Thomas Chen

Thomas Chen is currently a 3rd year Masters of Architecture Student at Yale University. Born in the US and raised in Taiwan, Thomas moved to the US to pursue an education in Architecture. As a young adult that grew up as a third culture kid, the question of identity and place has always been in crisis for him. However, through Architecture, he believes he has found an outlet to address his anxieties. He believes in Architecture as a relentless inquiry into a method of cultural production that transcends the inanimate final product and taps into a three-way dialectic between theory, practice, and a yearning to make. 

 

Thomas brings his acute sense of cultural navigation into his work by being on a constant quest to look for THE answer.
